Mahaffey Theater Expands Summer Camp Program with New Technical Theater Track Featuring Legally Blonde Jr. Production

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - EntSun -- Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts proudly announces its 2025 Summer Camp, part of the acclaimed Class Acts youth education initiative—and this year, it's bigger than ever. In addition to the traditional performance-based theater camp for ages 8–18, the Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater is launching a Technical Theater Summer Camp for students interested in exploring the magic that happens behind the curtain.
Both programs culminate in a full production of Legally Blonde Jr., a youth-adapted musical filled with heart, humor, and high-energy songs.
Camp Dates: July 7–25, 2025
Tech Camp Track: July 14–25, 2025
Show Dates: July 18, 25 & 26, 2025

Perfect for all experience levels, the onstage program offers young performers guaranteed roles in Legally Blonde Jr.. Participants will receive acting, singing, and stage presence training in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Backstage Tech Track
The new Technical Theater Camp is designed for students who want to discover the inner workings of live theater. From July 14–25, participants will:

Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde: The Musical JR. is a fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit, and sass, leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink! The show features high-energy dance numbers and a flexible cast that includes sorority sisters, law students, hairdressers, and more.
