Lake Norman Philharmonic - Free Community Concert

The Lake Norman Philharmonic (LKN PHIL) returns to perform at the Liberty Park Amphitheater on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free to the public.
MOORESVILLE, N.C. - EntSun -- LAKE NORMAN, N.C. & MOORESVILLE, N.C. – A highlight of Mooresville's arts scene, the Lake Norman Philharmonic returns to Liberty Park on October 2nd at 7:00 p.m. to join the Town of Mooresville in celebrating America's 250th anniversary. Admission is free and open to the public.
Conducted by Maestro Eduardo Cedeño, the Lake Norman Philharmonic will feature specially-selected classical and contemporary selections at this concert. The Iredell County Composite Squadron Color Guard of the Civil Air Patrol North Carolina Wing Group 162 will proudly present the colors for this event.
The LKN Phil will perform several patriotic music selections, including pieces such as Fanfare 250, Flight of Valor, and Into the Storm. The Langtree Charter Upper School Choir and soloist Clara Krebs will perform I Dreamed a Dream with the orchestra. Guest conductors Dave Ellis and Charity Olds will each lead patriotic selections familiar to audiences.

One of the event's standout moments will be the introduction of soprano Lydia Grace Goldie of Danville, Kentucky. A graduate of The Juilliard School, where she earned both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees, Ms. Goldie brings an impressive and wide-ranging performance history that includes MetLiveArts, the New York Philharmonic, Chautauqua Opera, the CHQ Symphony Orchestra, The Stephen Foster Drama Association, Buglisi Dance Theatre, and the New York Festival of Song. Her artistry has taken her to celebrated stages, including Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and The Kennedy Center. Fresh from recent honors that include first prize in the 2026 Heafner/Williams Vocal Competition, semifinalist recognition in Opera Mississippi's John Alexander National Vocal Competition, and an Emerging Talent Award from the Lotte Lenya Competition, Lydia will bring her soaring voice to God Bless America and a beloved selection from The Sound of Music.
This free, family-friendly event will be sure to delight all ages! So, bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the evening with us. Food trucks and drink vendors will be ready to serve at 6:30 p.m.

The Lake Norman Philharmonic ("LKN PHIL) is a registered, nonprofit community orchestra founded and conducted by Maestro Eduardo Cedeño. The LKN PHIL is comprised of community musicians and is open to all local instrumentalists desiring to share their talent and perform orchestral music that enhances performing arts in communities surrounding the Lake Norman, North Carolina region. The LKN PHIL is committed to outreach and collaboration with artists from the local community, schools, and universities with programs that foster music education. The Orchestra performs from four to six concerts a year from April through early December. No audition is required; rehearsals are held every Monday evening, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Langtree Charter Academy Upper School in Mooresville, NC. Website: lknphil.org
