Creators Society Animation Podcast Launches Season 3 With An Interview With Kristine Belson, President Of Sony Pictures Animation
EntSun News/10972963
LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- Creators Society Animation Podcast is thrilled to launch into their third season with a conversation with Kristine Belson.
The Creators Society Animation Podcast focuses on the people behind the animated projects we all love. It features interviews with key players in the field, including animators, writers, directors, producers, and executives from top studios such as Disney, DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Animation, Pixar, and more. The podcast provides an intimate look into the personal stories, experiences, and perspectives of the people working in animation, giving listeners valuable insights through the experiences of our guests.
In our interview with Kristine Belson, we take a look back at her accomplished career, starting with her early days in live-action and her time at the Jim Henson Company and DreamWorks Animation. We delve into her current role as the President of Sony Pictures Animation, where she provides insight into the studio's development process and ethos, including the critically acclaimed film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and its impact on the animation industry. Belson also discusses the studio's upcoming projects, including a K-Pop movie and the "Agent Elvis" series, and her collaboration with Sony Pictures Imageworks and acclaimed creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

In talking about Sony's development process in relation to other studios, Belson says "We know that they have bigger budgets than us… which means really time. I mean, that's really what the money buys is more time. And so we have to be more nimble. So we don't have that same level of collaboration. And I think it's partially born out of necessity, but we're not unhappy about it".
At the end of last year the podcast also featured the director of DreamWorks Animation's Oscar nominated Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, Joel Crawford and The Bad Guys director Pierre Perifel.
Host Michael Wakelam says, "So many of our guests grew up not knowing what careers were available in animation. So by chatting through what very often are non-linear career journeys we aim to not only show the next generation what's possible in animation, but share the wisdom of our guests with the entire industry."
Producer Eric Miller says, "The Creators Society Animation Podcast is a perfect representation of what the Creators Society is all about: bringing together the diverse skill sets and talents needed to create animation. I am incredibly proud of the podcast and it's hard to believe that we are already in our 3rd season."
