Aleem Hossain Wins Best Director at Berlin Festival for After We Leave

LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- Aleem Hossain's sci-fi drama After We Leave won more awards this week on the back of its London Sci-Fi FilmFest Best Film award earlier this year. Aleem was awarded Best Director for his first feature at the Berlin Sci-Fi FilmFest. After We Leave has its North American premiere at Other Worlds Austin on Sunday, December 8 at 5:05 pm.

After We Leave is a gritty sci-fi drama about a man who has a once-in-a-lifetime chance to emigrate off Earth… if only he can find his estranged wife and convince her to come with him.

Aleem Hossain's debut feature was filmed over four years and deals with contemporary issues about immigration, inclusivity, and the global environment crisis. The film's use of Los Angeles locations, Julie Kirkwood's cinematography, and the mesmerizing stand out performance from Brian Silverman is a lesson in what can be achieved in contemporary independent filmmaking.
