Adelphi Orchestra presents "Music for a Sunday Afternoon"

RIVER EDGE, N.J. - EntSun -- The Adelphi Orchestra celebrates 2021 and its 67th Season of "Music for All" with a return to live performance, without an audience, live-streamed on Sunday, March 7 at 2 PM in a concert entitled "Music for a Sunday Afternoon" The concert will feature the Adelphi Orchestra Chamber Ensemble in works by Mozart and Dvorak.  "Music for a Sunday Afternoon" is sponsored by the Music Performance Trust Fund and will be available to the public free of charge via YouTube. "Music for a Sunday Afternoon" will feature members of the Adelphi Orchestra Chamber Ensemble Laura Hamilton violin, Sylvia Rubin violin, Fransesca Silos, viola and Lanny Paykin, cello who will perform Mozart's perennial favorite, the Quartet for Strings no 17 in B flat major, K 458 known as the "Hunt" and Dvorak's beloved Quartet for Strings no 12 in F major, Op. 96/B 179 – also known as the "American."

The Adelphi Orchestra, despite the pandemic, celebrates it's 67^th Season of "Music for All" and remains Northern New Jersey's longest, continuously performing orchestra. The Adelphi Orchestra presents concerts featuring beloved classical works of symphonic, chamber, operatic, and dance music performed by accomplished national and international guest soloists and distinguished conductors. The Orchestra is currently under the direction of Maestro Richard Owen. For the past 17 years, the Adelphi Orchestra has sponsored a Young Artist Competition and presented Young Artist Concerts throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area.
