Movie&Short Festival 2027: Submissions Open for Short Films and Visual Arts

BOCA RATON, Fla. - EntSun -- Submissions are now open for the Movie&Short Festival 2027, an international festival bringing together independent cinema, visual arts, technology, and new forms of artistic expression. The call for entries covers two competition sections: the Movie&Short Competition 2027, dedicated to short films, and Art for the Future 2027, focused on visual arts. Both competitions are free to enter.

The Movie&Short Competition 2027 is the festival's main competition section and is open to short films on any subject. The competition aims to showcase distinctive artistic visions and original storytelling through audience voting and awards presented by a technical jury of industry professionals.

The deadline for submissions is March 25, 2027. Online audience voting will take place from April 5 to May 5, 2027, while the awards ceremony and live event are scheduled for May 2027. Entry is free.

The Audience Award will go to the short film receiving the highest number of online votes. The winning work will be screened during the festival's closing event.
The technical jury will present awards for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Short Film.

The festival will also present the Mara Da Costa Reis Award, established in memory of the director. The special recognition celebrates her artistic sensitivity, distinctive vision, and deep commitment to independent cinema and audiovisual experimentation.

The Movie&Short Festival is also renewing Art for the Future 2027, an open-theme competition dedicated to visual arts and new forms of conceptual and figurative research. The section welcomes artists working across a wide range of disciplines and techniques.

The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2027. Online audience voting will run from February 1 to March 15, 2027. Winners will be announced in April 2027 and presented during the live event scheduled for May. Participation in this section is also free.

To enter either competition, filmmakers and artists must complete the online application form and provide their personal details, biography, synopsis, and supporting documentation for the submitted work. Applicants must also declare that they hold the relevant rights and that their work is original, including any music, text, and images used.
