Open source, GeoAI, GIS, EO, and cloud-native experts gather at the Downtown Sheraton Grand Sacramento.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - EntSun -- The open source geospatial community is converging on Sacramento. FOSS4G NA 2026 takes place November 2–4 at the Downtown Sheraton Grand Sacramento, bringing together data scientists, GIS analysts, developers, and researchers for three days of talks, workshops, and hands-on sessions. Registration is open at www.foss4gna.org.

This year's themes — Resilience and Innovation — reflect what's at stake. From wildfire detection to water policy, satellite imagery to GeoAI, open source tools are reshaping how we understand and respond to the world around us. FOSS4G NA is where the people building those tools meet the people using them.

Keynote Speakers
Leading the plenary program is Chris Howard, Head of Open Source at Uber. Chris drives Uber's open source strategy, governance, and ecosystem engagement — using AI to help teams safely build on and contribute to open source software. He is also an active voice in global open governance through OpenUK.

Joining him is Brianna Corremonte, Technical Lead at Development Seed, Adjunct Professor at Loyola Marymount University, and Founding Editorial Board Member of the Cloud Native Geospatial Foundation. With over a decade of experience spanning NASA's Goddard Earth Sciences Data Center, remote sensing research, and GeoZarr specification development, Brianna brings a rare mix of science, engineering, and environmental purpose.

Rounding out the lineup is Rishi Madhok, CEO and Co-Founder of TerraByte. With 18+ papers and patents from venues including NeurIPS and CVPR, and roots in autonomous vehicle perception at Uber ATG and geospatial AI at Microsoft Planetary Computer, Rishi is now building foundation models that make decades of Earth observation imagery queryable in real time.

Why Sacramento
California's capital sits at the center of some of the most pressing geospatial challenges in the country — wildfire risk, water management, and climate resilience. It's an ideal backdrop for a conference focused on the tools and data that help communities respond.
