NEW YORK - EntSun -- SR Socially Relevant Film Festival 2021 #SRFF 2021 opens March 15 with 63 films from 33 countries and focuses on 12 themes. One of these is on a key contemporary social issue with the film bloc Disability Seen in a Positive Light. One short, one feature documentary, one narrative documentary, and one play will be shown. The selection includes Trevor Grahams' Chef Antonio's Recipe for Revolution, Julia Ward's In.clu.sion, Leona Krahn's Vivi's Vision, and Domenico Costanzo's I Married My Mother. A "Meet the Filmmakers" LIVE online session will be held on Sunday, March 14, at 5:30 PM EST. Tickets available via the festival website.

Founding Artistic Director Nora Armani says, "Healthcare is a universal issue and right. We are grateful to the filmmakers who are dedicating their energy to illuminating these issues for the public. If enough voices speak together, eventually real change can be made".
The eighth edition of SRFF covers a broad range of socially relevant™ stories about climate change, disability in a positive light, empowering women, genocide and survival, home and belonging, race and discrimination, indigenous peoples' issues, LGBTQ rights, and more.
The narrative films slate offers eight titles, the documentary features slate has 12 films, and there are 43 shorts that complete the roster of 38 selected films on offer. Industry sessions and networking opportunities make SRFF 2021 "online" edition another unforgettable year. Visit www.ratedsrfilms.org for schedules, film synopses, and tickets.

The festival was created as a response to the proliferation of violence and violent forms of storytelling in media and entertainment. SR™ believes in the power of cinema in raising awareness of social issues and promoting positive social change. During its first six years, the festival showcased over 350 films from 35 countries. - Vivi's Vision | Leona Krahn | Canada | 2020 | 43 min - Vivi embarks on writing and producing her first play after being selected in the lottery process. Her play is based on the Harlem Renaissance novel Passing by Nella Larsen which tells the dramatic story of a mixed-race woman who passes for white. Vivi relates strongly to the novel as she is not only blind but mixed race so she "passes" often in life to better cope with her incredible challenges
