Slash Fitness Hosted Fitness Event in Delray Beach with Creators of Spartan Race

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - EntSun -- In an effort to motivate and get Floridians excited about getting healthy, working out, and being safe, Slash Fitness in Delray Beach joined with DEKAFIT, by the creators of Spartan, to host the first ever two-day DEKAFIT STRONG Activation.

Saturday's workout session brought out 40 Slash Fitness members for a competition, which included 10 DEKA Fitness Zones to build out a well-rounded functional fitness training and testing environment for all levels. Sunday's session included 10 gyms from around Florida for a "Battle of the Gyms" competition. Each participant was paired with a coach to keep track of timing, count repetitions, ensure social distancing, and clean all surfaces after use.

Nick Porreca, a Slash Fitness coach and trainer, won the individual competition in 14 minutes and 29 seconds. First place in the "Battle of the Gyms" competition was GETT ITT Core Fitness from Jacksonville.

The event was made possible by sponsors Celsius, Chestee, FROPRO, Barrel of Monks Brewing, and Restore Hyper Wellness (Delray Beach).

Slash Fitness Co-Founder Joe Ardagna said: "It's been a rough few months for many when it comes to working out, staying fit, and challenging ourselves. As humans, we need goals, and it was our intention to motivate participants to try hard, push themselves, and get stronger and healthier overall!"
