On Air: A Life In Public Access

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - EntSun -- CHANNELS TO THE UNKNOWN: FORMER PUBLIC ACCESS STATION AT CENTER OF CHILLING NEW EXPOSE, ON AIR: A LIFE IN PUBLIC ACCESS
In my book a new documentation reveals 1982 broadcast anomalies, temporal signal intrusions, and the ominous groundwork for "The Great Overwrite."
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — October 1, 2026 Long before the era of streaming algorithms and 24-hour digital connection, local television was a wild west of unshielded airwaves and after-hours experimentation. Today, startling archival records and engineering logs compiled in the new book On Air: A Life in Public Access by Charlotte Hawthorne shed light on one of the most baffling and disturbing chapters in broadcast history: the strange case of Channel 12.
Focusing on the station's graveyard shift, On Air chronicles the events of November 1982, when a local public access talk show, Nightlines, hosted by anchor Linda Blair, became the unwitting target of a systematic temporal signal intrusion. Operating from the station's basement facility, Studio B—originally constructed in 1971 under the secretive designation "Project Overwrite"—the station broadcasted deep into the night as bizarre environmental anomalies began to plague the crew.

According to the executive briefing documents accompanying the book's release, engineers discovered that Channel 12 operated as an unshielded "raw pipe" directly connected to a high-powered relay dish atop Bald Mountain. During live broadcasts, staff documented plunging ambient temperatures, sudden freezing equipment, reversing mechanical clocks, and mysterious square-wave transmissions carrying compressed digital data far exceeding 1982 technology.
Most alarming are the accounts involving a figure known only as "The Stranger," who warned station personnel that the broadcasts were not of terrestrial origin, but rather a resonance traveling backward from the year 2028. The transmissions allegedly served as an alignment beacon for a cosmic convergence culminating in "The Great Overwrite"—a global digital event scheduled for October 24, 2028.
"This is not just a retro nostalgia trip into early cable television," notes the briefing synthesis. "The records from Channel 12 suggest a deliberate, decades-long architectural blueprint designed to bridge human infrastructure with an unprecedented external signal."
