MDDV enables MQ-9 to REAP the benefits of big data management

ATLANTA - EntSun -- The United States Air Force selected American Data Solution's (ADS) game-changing IETM/IETP (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) technology, the Multipurpose Digital Data Viewer, or MDDV(TM), to support General Atomics' MQ-9 Reaper.

The MQ-9 Reaper is an armed, multi-mission, medium-altitude, long-endurance remotely piloted aircraft employed primarily against dynamic execution targets and secondarily as an intelligence collection asset. Given its significant loiter time, wide-range sensors, multi-mode communications suite, and precision weapons – MQ-9 provides a unique capability to perform strike, coordination, and reconnaissance against high-value, fleeting, and time-sensitive targets.

ADS's interactive and integrated software delivers a multitude of benefits to include automating maintenance data collection, fault detection, diagnostics, prognostics, and logistics chain integration. Senior Air Force leaders have called MDDV "the new Hub of Logistics".

In 2019, ADS completed an aggressive technical conversion of the Air Force's MQ-9's datasets (Maintenance, Flight Manuals, Ground Control Systems, and Weapons) into S1000D, Issue 4.1 international data standard. ADS accomplished this work under a 12-month contract, with implementation into MDDV plus extensive training and deployment support (thousands of airmen, about 30 bases, worldwide). ADS's President/CEO (Ran Meriaz) states "This provides significant optimization of maintenance touch-time, leading to increased aircraft availability and wartime lethality; all while substantially reducing the cost of aircraft maintenance and back-end logistics."

During this new 24-month MQ-9 sustainment contract, ADS will continue to convert new USAF generic changes and General Atomics' maintenance, GCS and flight manuals source technical data into S1000D format, provide it to the USAF in MDDV (to be used over Gov-Cloud and also for not-connected use) plus provide MDDV software sustainment to this premier US Air Force Weapon System.

MDDV is a combination of a super-IETM supporting all types of data: S1000D, SGML, PDF, 3D; simultaneously and interchangeably, in zero-footprint, secure (SIPR), on all platforms, cloud, connected and disconnected, with a built-in CSDB, automated maintenance logbook and data collection, integrated training, analytics dashboard, continuous process improvement engine, fleet troubleshooting analyzer (using AI & ML), plus hosts a secure maintenance/logistics social network and a communication hub.
