Churches And Communities Unite To Pray Over Schools For Second We Pray San Diego Gathering
EntSun News/10839028
SAN DIEGO - EntSun -- Churches and communities unite once more for the second We Pray San Diego gathering. Saturday, September 26th from 9AM-10AM PST over 80 San Diego churches will come together at 50 sites to pray. The focus this time will be on our San Diego schools. As students and faculty have transitioned into the 2020-2021 school year, they're experiencing stresses they haven't had to experience before with fears still looming around sickness, racial division and financial instability for many households.
Members of the community including City officials, school representatives, families and teachers are invited to come out to one of the 50 sites including schools and district offices that are a gathering site for prayer. The focus is to lift the community's voices in prayer to God for continued healing of our city struggling to find stable ground with the ongoing effects of COVID-19, social unrest and uncertainty about the future.
Senior pastor of the Rock Church, Pastor Miles McPherson, "We will be praying for God's blessing to be poured out on our city, state and nation. As students have been returning to school recently, we know that teachers, parents, and educators need our support. Therefore, we have decided to pray at schools and on the sidewalks in front of schools for our next event. We have seen churches and community come together in a mighty way and I am proud to announce we have over 80 churches participating and 50 locations confirmed."

Earlier this year, on June 20th, 135 churches and fifteen thousand (including online participants) people gathered to pray during the first We Pray San Diego event in a demonstration of community connectedness, resilience and faith.
Children are experiencing stress and anxiety from loss of normalcy in all areas of their life, while observing parents and other caregivers struggle with the emotional and psychological distress over current social issues. Children who are not sick with COVID-19 are not necessarily healthy and are in need of a community to rally around them with support and prayer!
All participants are encouraged to pray along streets, sidewalk and green spaces at the school sites listed below, while abiding by CDC and state guidelines, including wearing a face covering and keeping 6 feet apart. People can also participate from their home
To join in San Diego's second city-wide We Pray San Diego gathering, please visit https://www.wepraysandiego.com to register and receive details on all the site locations. For those interested in following guided prayer audio, downloadable versions will be available on the website.
