Award winning animated sci-fi short about AI and our future is now available to watch online

BUDAPEST, Hungary - EntSun -- Sileo is an animated sci-fi short directed by Demeter Lorant and produced by Full Screen Films is now available to watch online for free. It has been screened at over 40 festivals all around the world winning multiple awards and nominations. The short explores timely themes like AI and identity: after years of factory work and gradual repairs and replacements, a robot realizes he doesn't want to lose his identity and embarks on a journey to find his creator, seeking answers to profound questions.

Demeter Lorant, the director: "Sileo is a deeply personal project for me, one I've worked on solo for over three years. I've always been fascinated by the Ship of Theseus thought experiment and found it intriguing to explore this concept through the lens of a robot with artificial intelligence. The world of Sileo is quiet and desolate. The short film seeks to provoke thought by depicting a future that is both bleak and hopeful, where, even in humanity's absence, the remnants we left behind strive to reconnect with us."

The short was nominated for Best Animated Short at The Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation and Technology in the USA and won Best Animated Short at The New York Science Fiction Film Festival and The Budapest Independent Film Festival in 2024, among many other accolades. Additionally, Sileo was featured at HungaroCon, Hungary's largest Comic-Con-style event. Now, the short is finally available to watch online for free on YouTube.
