You learned about these disasters in school, and now it is time to eat them too, in the style of historical tartare. Here's a sampling of dining destinations we will visit: • An American civil war battlefield hospital for a bowl of toast soup – after the latest amputee is moved off the table! • The lavish iron bowels of the Titanic, touring every class' meal offerings from gruel to hachis parmentier. No need to ask for a glass of water. • In a Venetian plague house, we'll sneeze and convulse after a tureen of cabbage potage. Bring an extra bowl and lid to catch a pet rat! • A hospital bar on the eve of Y2K, before they turn off all of the POS systems to prevent their sentient uprising. Your boarding ticket is ready. Buckle up. We have a lot of cooking, bleeding, and screaming in fields, outhouses, and vast open stretches of freezing ocean to do.

Agony: Suffering Yesterday, Entertaining Today, a nonfiction tome of urban legend, medical and historical trivia combined with a cookbook containing recipes for foods served during some of the largest calamities in human history, has been signed with Adelaide Books for an October 2020 release.

Author's Bio: Timothy D. Starnes is a self-described "acquired taste." He is the original founder of Ethereal Crack, an east-coast USA-based ghost tour agency which grew to be one of the largest in the world, and has been unofficially banned from a museum for having actors rub fake entrails on patrons and lock them in a cabin during a haunted house. Agony: Suffering Yesterday, Entertaining Today is his first book. However, he has penned many stageplays, painted many paintings, and creative directed multiple video games.
