Unicorn Children's Foundation to Host a Virtual Creative Workforce Solutions Summit
EntSun News/10851735
BOCA RATON, Fla. - EntSun -- Unicorn Children's Foundation is hosting a virtual Creative Workforce Solutions Summit from December 3-5, 2020. The Creative Workforce Solutions Summit will give entrepreneurs and social enterprises the tools needed to start or grow a business owned by or employing young adults with developmental or learning disorders. Despite a willingness and desire to go to work, the employment rate of people with disabilities is just 37.8%.
The summit will offer local and national speakers, thirty-six (36) break-out sessions/workshops, meet up opportunities and an exhibitor hall. Topics will cover transition planning, benefits management, business planning, business management, and funding. Several existing entrepreneurial businesses will share their experience, including: The Chocolate Spectrum, John's Crazy Socks, Scentsability, White Cane Coffee and many more. Meetups showcase a dance event and magic show. Exhibitors will highlight their products and many will offer discounts on holiday gift shopping.

Sharon Alexander, CEO of The Unicorn Children's Foundation, looks to promote community collaboration when facing such a complex issue. "We are so excited to showcase innovative employment solutions for individuals with special needs and their families. The Summit will focus on 'out of the box' ideas, while educating entrepreneurs and families about the resources available. The pandemic has posed additional barriers for a group of individuals who already face struggles with obtaining and maintaining traditional employment. This conference will emphasize the value of re-thinking employment with a focus on providing creative solutions rather than exacerbating poor outcomes."
The summit agenda starts with sessions and a reception on Thursday, including a panel of successful Entrepreneurs. On Friday, there will be an all-day schedule featuring speakers with vast experience in social enterprises, panel discussions, and educational sessions to assist both start-up and seasoned businesses. Saturday will offer morning sessions and opportunities for collaboration and roundtables.
