The Satanic Temple of NYC presents NON SERVIAM: a theatrical fundraiser for reproductive rights

NEW YORK - Jan. 17, 2019 - EntSun -- The Satanic Temple (TST) of New York City presents NON SERVIUM: An evening of Satanic Theater as a fundraiser for reproductive rights. The show starts at 6pm on Sunday, January 20, at Lucky 13 Saloon, 644 Sackett Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217. 90% of all proceeds will go towards TST's national campaign to protect reproductive rights. $22 Tickets are available at Eventbrite and can also be purchased at the door for $25.

The evening will feature original theatrical performances from The Wulfstan Group, as well as burlesque from Star, Zoe Diamond, Melissa Saurus Wrecks, and Chartruice. DJ PKA MATTE BLACK will be on hand, providing the soundtrack to the performances and playing a set live until the event closes at 10pm.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the legal fund for TST's religious reproductive rights campaign. TST has filed both state and federal lawsuits against the state of Missouri on behalf of Mary Doe, a pregnant woman seeking an abortion.

"The legal cases assert that state interference with the lawful behavior of a TST member to terminate her pregnancy violates her rights under Missouri's Religious Freedom Restoration Act," according to the TST. "Consistent with our tenets that call for bodily autonomy and acting in accordance with the best scientific evidence available, TST religiously objects to many of the restrictions that states have enacted that interfere with abortion access."
