[New Book] "Historic Maps of Charlotte" Available Now!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - EntSun -- Reedy Press is pleased to announce the release of our newest local interest book, Historic Maps of Charlotte: A History of the Queen City in Rare Maps, by Ashley Mahoney.

Charlotte's rich history dates back to the mid1700s. It was named for Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the German wife of England's King George III. What began as a small courthouse town has grown into one of the largest cities in the United States.

About the Author: Ashley Mahoney is an award-winning journalist based in Charlotte. Many of the subjects explored in Historic Maps of Charlotte, from Camp North End to Independence Park, have been part of her coverage for Axios Charlotte and the Charlotte Post. These are some of her favorite places to explore with her husband, Danny. Historic Maps of Charlotte allowed her to combine her skills as a journalist with her degrees in history and English.
