Morning Choir Brings Some the Biggest Names in Electronic Music to Durham
EntSun News/10891356
Morning Choir returns to their mission of establishing Durham as the best city in the world for electronic music.
DURHAM, N.C. - EntSun -- After over a year of no concerts, Morning Choir resumes events this summer at The Durham Fruit. After launching the Ephemeral series in 2019 with the likes of Darude, Nora En Pure, Green Velvet and more. In March of 2020, Morning Choir was launching a weekly event to bring underground acts from around the world to Durham but it was cancelled due to quarantine.
During quarantine, The Morning Choir team's effort was poured into building up their record label, Maison Fauna, which INDY Week called, "a steadily blooming boutique-with-heart brand" whose releases have been described by Bandcamp as collecting, "some of the world's best house, techno and UK garage." They also planned for the return of concerts. Now the hiatus is over.

"Durham is one of the most vibrant and creative musical communities in existence and we're glad to be a part of it." says Joe Bell, co-founder and Managing Director of Morning Choir. "Our mission is simple: make Durham the number one spot in the world for electronic music. We're so excited to get more of the Durham music scene out into the world and more of the music world into Durham,"
Morning Choir has partnered with the Durham Fruit & Produce Company because of their brilliant vision for what a music and art space should be. According to the Fruit's owner, Tim Walter, ""Sometimes all the elements come together to ignite more than we could've hoped for, or even imagined." The music industry is buzzing about Durham in general and the events at The Fruit in particular. It's a thriving scene with a history of innovation from the likes of Moogfest, Merge Records, Raund Haus, Party Illegal, The Floor, The Conjure, Moroderik Musik, Krawzbonez and more. You can feel the creativity in the air in Durham.
