Kool & the Gang Perform On American Idol Finale

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - May 15, 2019 - EntSun -- The legendary Grammy Award-winning Pop/R&B group KOOL & THE GANG, will appear on the live, three hour season finale of ABC-TV's "American Idol" (8 pm EST, 5 pm PST) on Sunday, May 19th. The network promises that the event will feature performances and the final results of who will win, all rolled up into one broadcast. The group will be performing with former contestant, Uche, who faced elimination last month.

This year, Kool & the Gang are celebrating their 50^th anniversary in music. Their first single, "Kool & the Gang" b/w "Raw Hamburger" and self-titled debut album were released in 1969. From there, the band went on a hit streak, thanks to smashes such as "Jungle Boogie," "Hollywood Swinging" "Funky Stuff", "Open Sesame", "Ladies Night", "Too Hot" and the #1 Pop single, "Celebration". Kool & the Gang have sold over 80 million albums worldwide and influenced many generations of music folks.

Group founder, ROBERT "KOOL" BELL leads a current lineup of the band and has become an entrepreneur, launching Le Kool champagne with the France-based House of Berthelot. The vintage has become a best-seller overseas and Robert plans on debuting Le Kool champagne in the states this year.
