Full Circle at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts
EntSun News/10779745
The Hillsborough Gallery of Arts continues its Featured Artists series this month with new work by Ellie Reinhold, Linda Carmel, and Jason Smith: two painters and a sculptor.
HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - EntSun -- Ellie Reinhold writes, "The phrase full circle could indicate, simply, a visual image of a complete circle, or it could refer to a return to the place of origin. My abstracted landscape paintings of the last several years have shifted and changed, but usually continue to hold tree forms and the visual image of a full circle. However, the most recent artworks that have left my studio are 3D wall installations. These return me, full circle, to the artwork of my early exhibition days when installation took center stage."
Linda Carmel's paintings are often whimsical, but her message is serious. Carmel writes, "Our planet is in trouble. Who can save her? All over the world women are rising up and letting their voices be heard. In this series of paintings, I look at ways women, using their innate skills, can protect and nurture the planet."

Sculptor Jason Smith describes his work for Full Circle, "In my pursuit of artistic expression, sculpture has always been my primary focus. My sculpture is abstract. I manipulate form in space to create visual balance, using rhythm, action, and movement. I aspire to create compositions that convey both energy and serenity."
Full Circle can be seen at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts June 24th- July 21st. There will be an opening reception during Hillsborough's Last Friday Art Walk on June 28th from 6-9pm.
