Fringe Enigmas: magic & mentalism for the curious | Atlanta Fringe

ATLANTA - EntSun -- Joe M. Turner, veteran performer, producer, and consultant on magic film, theatre, and television in Atlanta over the past two decades, has been selected to perform in the 2023 Atlanta Fringe Festival. His festival show, "Fringe Enigmas: Magic and Mentalism for the Curious" will contain new material that offers not just impossible experiences, but a challenge to cultivate an appreciation for mystery. The show will be presented at Neighborhood Church on June 8 and June 10, with tickets available at the door or via www.AtlantaFringe.org.

"This show is not a traditional theatrical journey," says Turner. "It's definitely rooted in vaudeville-style variety entertainment. But there are moments along the way where the sensation of mystery is intended to provoke personal reflection. I will certainly be honest about some of my own journey through and with the art of magic, and how it has been indispensable to the rest of my life."

Turner is a three-time winner of the "Greater Atlanta Magician of the Year" award, voted annually by the community of magicians in the region. He served as the 2015-2016 International President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, during which time he toured the world performing and lecturing. He has appeared six continents, performed at the Hollywood Magic Castle, off-Broadway at Monday Night Magic in New York, the London Palladium, and at innumerable corporate and private events across America and around the world. In 2020 he delivered a TEDx talk, "Impossibility Is No Excuse." His television appearances include Good Morning America, CNN Headline News, Nightline, and network television performances in Europe and South America. He and his wife Rosemary have two grown children and live in the northwestern Atlanta suburbs.
