City of Bloomington Fall Leaf Collection Begins October 19

~ Bloomington, IN- The City of Bloomington has announced that its annual fall leaf collection will commence on Monday, October 19. This collection will run through December 30 and will follow residents' regular A and B week yard waste schedules.

According to the city's press release, residents are advised to place their leaves at the curb in either brown paper yard waste bags, trash cans with handles, or City-issued green-lid yard waste carts. Those who do not have a green-lid yard waste cart can purchase one from the Sanitation Department for $70.

To ensure a smooth collection process, the city has provided some guidelines for residents. Brown paper bags should be left untaped as plastic tape is not biodegradable. Additionally, dirt should be kept out of bags and containers and each bag or container should not exceed the weight limit of 40 pounds. It is also important to keep yard waste separate from trash and recycling carts for easy access by collection crews.
