Take for instance, Matthew Henson, the first African American Arctic Explorer. Henson accompanied Admiral Robert Peary on seven Arctic voyages, one excursion of which includes them being the first explorers to reach the North Pole. Brewer is in character to play this unsung hero, and of course puts a funny twist to the historic journey to reaching the North Pole.
"I am beyond thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful film highlighting the untold greats," says Barry Brewer, comedian and actor. "Playing Matthew Henson's role not only made me research extensively about the character, but also had me further indulge in African American History and appreciate the underrated heroes who often go unnoticed."
In addition to Kevin Hart, comedian Barry Brewer acts beside additional comedy greats such as Lil Rel, who plays as himself and Henry 'Box' Brown, and Tiffany Haddish, who plays Mae Jemison.
Barry Brewer's credits include TV One's Who's Got Jokes and Comedy Central's Gabriel Iglesia's Presents...Plus, Brewer's newest stand-up special titled: Chicago I'm Home is set to be released on February 19, 2019 on all streaming platforms, where he is in efforts to donate $1 million to CPS Schools (including Walter H.
