Wisdom House Books Launches New Picture Book, Jared's Last Carrot by Sara Devine
EntSun News/10797453
Singer and songwriter Sara Devine pens her first children's book about a lovable bunny and the importance of sharing.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - EntSun -- Sara Devine debuts her first picture book, Jared's Last Carrot, which tells the story of a lovable rabbit named Jared who wakes up one day, tummy rumbling, with the dream of making carrot pancakes. There's only one problem: he's completely out of carrots! His journey, which begins as a quest for carrots, evolves into a story about the importance of sharing with others. Illustrator Talitha Shipman brings this story to life through her sweet, vivid illustrations.
Sara Devine lives in Teaneck, New Jersey. She sings and writes books and music, performing all over the world as a backup vocalist for other artists as well as for her own music. Most importantly, Sara is a mom to her two children, Ella and Olivia. She grew up as the 9th child from a family of ten children where food was always a focal point and, thankfully, always available. Now, as a grown up foodie with children, Sara has shared this love by creating characters like Jared who also understands this love of food. She wants this book to help any parents hoping to reinforce good morals of friendship and sharing with their children.

While Shipman's colorful, lively illustrations depict Jared on a sunny day during the waning summertime, the book's message remains essential and pertinent year-round. As the holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas approach and food, friendship, and sharing become a focal point of our conversations and to-do lists, Jared's Last Carrot makes for a valuable book in teaching children the importance of all three.
