R&B Singer-Songwriter Nyasia Chane'l Set to Perform at Newark's 2026 Halsey Festival
EntSun News/11102734
Rising R&B artist brings her Neo-Hip-Hop Soul sound to downtown Newark on September 17 as part of the annual celebration of music, culture, small business and community
NEW YORK - EntSun -- New York-based R&B singer-songwriter Nyasia Chane'l is set to take the stage at the 2026 Halsey Festival, taking place Thursday, September 17, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Halsey Street in downtown Newark, New Jersey.
The free, family-friendly Halsey Festival is a celebration of the people, businesses and creative energy that make downtown Newark one of the region's most vibrant communities. The annual event brings together residents, students, visitors, local businesses and community organizations for an afternoon featuring live entertainment, food and artisan vendors, shopping and family activities.
For Nyasia Chane'l, the Halsey Festival provides another opportunity to introduce audiences to the versatile sound she describes as "Neo-Hip-Hop Soul" — a contemporary blend of R&B and soul infused with elements of hip-hop, pop, reggae, dancehall, Afrobeat and Caribbean music.
"I'm excited to come back to Newark and be part of an event that celebrates music, culture, local businesses and the community," said Nyasia Chane'l. "Festivals give me a chance to connect with people who may be hearing my music for the first time, while also performing for the fans who have been supporting this journey. I'm looking forward to bringing that energy to Halsey Street."
A Busy 2026 for Nyasia Chane'l
The Halsey Festival appearance continues an active year for the emerging R&B artist.
Earlier this year, Nyasia released "Jaded," continuing her direct-to-fan approach to new music while expanding the soulful and emotionally candid storytelling that has become a hallmark of her catalog.

She has also been celebrating the fifth anniversary of her debut EP, Clubhouse No. 7, the project that first introduced listeners to songs including "Impatience," "Good Good" and "Scandalous Valentine." The anniversary celebration has expanded the Clubhouse No. 7 era for longtime supporters while introducing the project to a new generation of listeners.
Her 2026 releases have also included the "WYFL Remix (Scammer Mix)," released in May, as Nyasia continues to experiment across R&B, hip-hop, Caribbean and Afro-influenced sounds.
Nyasia has maintained an equally active performance schedule. Her summer appearances have included the Festival of Nations in Portland, Maine, along with performances throughout New York and the Northeast.
Those appearances add to a growing live résumé that has included performances at S.O.B.'s, the New York State Fair, Resorts World Casino and an HBO-sponsored tribute to Aretha Franklin, as well as sharing stages and bills with artists including August Alsina and the late DMX.
From the Catskills to a Growing R&B Audience
Raised in Fallsburg in New York's Catskills region, Nyasia Chane'l has steadily built an independent career around emotionally driven songwriting and a willingness to move between musical styles without abandoning her R&B foundation.
Her catalog includes fan favorites such as "Rain," "Sticky Wicked," "Midsummer Dream," "Numb," "Reciprocation," "Impatience" and "Can't Stop Us."
Her music has earned radio support in the United States and internationally, including airplay from New York's Hot 97 and Power 105.1, SiriusXM, and stations in Jamaica and other markets, helping Nyasia develop an audience extending well beyond her New York roots.
