Sturtz developed the Sturtz-Sighting And Aiming Technique (S-SAAT), paired with custom textured balls designed to correct this visual distortion. Sturtz has designed four distinct sets of textured, patterned pool balls to correct this visual gap. He notes that in the last 80 years, only two sighting-and-aiming techniques have been widely taught in pool, and neither has solved the problem.
