The FreeWishes Foundation Honors Hundreds of Senior Citizens in Atlanta at The Golden Wishes Gala

Last Friday evening, over 700 hundred senior citizens were treated to an evening of excellence at the Georgia Aquarium. The FreeWishes Foundation kicked off this year's charitable giving campaign series honoring notable gatekeepers in the city of Atlanta. The Seventh Annual Golden Wishes Gala was hosted by Satchel Jester and featured many special guests and raffle prizes were provided throughout the night. During this private event, well-dressed seniors, corporate sponsors, and city officials laughed and mingled in support of the foundation's commitment to the senior community. The foundation received an official proclamation recognizing its charitable efforts by the city of Atlanta. Special guests of the night included, Future, Mario Avery (Former Mayor of Fairburn Georgia), Commissioner Natalie Hill, Keaton Phillips (Jet 1), and Joey Taravella (Jet 1).

Attendees enjoyed a lavish night in the scenic Ocean's Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium. Each guest received a Kroger gift card to assist with food for the holidays, indulged in a fully catered meal, enjoyed live music by the Collection Plate and danced to sounds by Dj Bluue. Guests also received tokens of appreciation provided by this year's sponsors Jet 1, HotelRooms.com, Freebandz, JenCare, and the Atlanta Hawks. In addition, the foundation honored local seniors from YMCA recreation centers whose plight includes advocacy for seniors in the city of Atlanta. This year, the foundation also crowned its first Mr. and Mrs. Golden Wishes who will serve as ambassadors for the 2018-2019 year. The Freewishes Foundation has dedicated the last seven years to delivering messages of hope, perseverance, and resilience to the Atlanta metro community. "Our family has always vowed to pay it forward and I believe that helping others is truly one of the most fulfilling things that you can do in life", said International Recording Artist Future.

Annually, The Golden Wishes Gala serves as the ultimate melting-pot-event for seniors looking to celebrate the holidays with their peers. Multi-platinum selling rapper Future made a lifetime commitment, alongside Stephanie Jester (mother) and Tia Wilburn-Anderson (sister), to youth and senior citizens in underserved areas by providing resources and opportunities that positively impact their life's experiences."Seven years ago, one idea to honor the passing of my late grandmother was the beginning of a special night for the senior citizens in the community.
