TEAMSTERS TRIUMPHANT AT CONTINENTAL CAFÉ
EntSun News/11053741
PLAINFIELD, Ind., March 21, 2025 ~ After nine weeks of striking, 31 members of Teamsters Local 135 at Continental Café have reached a tentative two-year contract that includes higher wages, increased retirement benefits, additional paid days off, and continued protection of Teamsters health care. This victory comes after the workers stood their ground against the company's refusal to bargain in good faith and unfair labor practices.
According to Dustin Roach, President of Local 135, this agreement is a testament to the determination and resilience of the rank-and-file members who refused to back down. He stated, "Their courage and solidarity forced Continental Café to face the consequences of its greed. I'm incredibly proud of our members for holding the line and winning the contract they deserve."
The union represents drivers, warehouse workers, and maintenance workers at Continental Café, which services vending machines for companies like UPS. The strike began in January when negotiations broke down due to the company's unwillingness to negotiate fairly. Throughout the strike, workers in Plainfield, Indiana received support from their fellow Local 135 members at Continental Café in Lafayette, Indiana who honored extended picket lines.

Banks believes this victory showcases the power of solidarity among union members.
