Spokane Police Investigate Fatal Fire With Fire Department

~ An adult woman was found dead after firefighters responded to a reported room fire at the Tiki Lodge, 1420 W. 2nd Avenue, in Spokane, on Sept. 29, 2026, according to the Spokane Police Department.
Firefighters and police officers were dispatched shortly after 11 a.m. The woman was found in the room after the fire was extinguished and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The department's Major Crimes Unit is investigating with Spokane Fire Department investigators to determine the circumstances. Police said the investigation is active and information remains preliminary.
The Medical Examiner's Office will release the woman's identity and the cause and manner of death later.
