Spartanburg High School again selects Mondo

Mondo flooring and track surfaces being installed in school's new campus
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - May 21, 2019 - EntSun -- A decade after it first installed a Mondo track surface to upgrade its athletic complex, Spartanburg High School again has selected Mondo surfaces for its new campus.
The high school is moving from its current home to a new 177-acre campus for the start of the 2019–20 academic year, and has chosen Mondo's Super X 720 for its outdoor track; Ramflex and MondoArmor Strength rubber flooring for the school's weight room and wrestling practice room; and Harmoni rubber flooring for three art classrooms. All the products are designed and manufactured by Mondo, the industry leader in sport track innovation and expertise.
In 2009, the school installed a Mondotrack for the outdoor track at its previous campus.
"Our experience with Mondo over the past 10 years is that it has given our student-athletes the opportunity to perform at their best, and has helped minimize injuries during training and competition," said Todd Staley, the high school's athletic director. "We feel we are giving them the highest quality in our facilities with Mondo."
Staley credits the Mondo track with enabling Spartanburg High to host prestigious competitions over the past decade, including the 2014 NCAA Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships and a USATF sectional event.
Myles Wilson, the school's assistant director for athletic facilities and operations, said the experience of working with Mondo also helped convince school officials to stick with the company.

"We've been truly impressed with Mondo," Wilson said. "They didn't just sell us a track and walk away—they were right there whenever we had a question and provided exceptional customer service every step of the way."
Super X 720 is the ideal surface for both competition and training because it guarantees track and field athletes the perfect combination of shock absorption and energy return for optimal performance. It is also environmentally friendly, composed of up to 38% contaminant-free, recycled post-consumer and post-industrial material and 10% rapidly renewable materials, and is GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold certified.
A weight-resistant double-layered vulcanized rubber flooring, Mondo's Ramflex is versatile and durable, it resists the wear and weight of sports equipment, provides optimal shock absorption and energy return, is easy to maintain and provides the perfect grip, even with minimal footwear or bare feet. MondoArmor Strength is a high-performance vulcanized rubber flooring surface that provides the perfect support for the most intense strength and conditioning training involving heavy weights.
Mondo's Harmoni is a durable, environmentally friendly rubber flooring product. Made from natural rubber, Harmoni is easy to recycle and dispose, and it contributes to builders' LEED initiatives. It's antibacterial and antimicrobial throughout, and it does not emit harmful chemicals, so it's safe for the environment and the people who use it. Long lasting, non-porous and stain resistant, Harmoni does not require stripping or waxing. It also is resistant to wear, abrasions and chemicals, and it has received GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification as well as GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification.
All the Mondo surfaces will be installed by Geo-Surfaces, which is based in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, and operates a regional office in Mooresville, North Carolina. Installation is scheduled to begin in July and be completed by the end of August.
About Mondo Track Surfaces
Ideal for both training and high-level competition, Mondo track surfaces are made from rubber and vulcanized to produce a continuous, seamless piece of material that will not separate. In addition, they have a life expectancy of 15 years or more, won't compress or break down over time, can withstand heavy static and rolling loads, are easy to maintain with non-porous surfaces, and have a low total cost of ownership.
