Prayers for Los Angeles County

SAN DIEGO - EntSun -- (San Diego, CA) As fires continue to pop up in the path of hurricane-force winds, our hearts break for all those whose lives have been upended by this disaster. From Palisades to Pasadena, thousands of people have been forced evacuate and have lost homes, businesses, and community centers. As our first responders continue to work to protect lives and property, may we as a nation pause to pray for our neighbors.

Heavenly Father,

The psalmist tells us that "weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."

So I pray that night will end and morning will soon dawn on all the towns impacted by the fires in Southern California.

I ask You to keep this region in Your loving care. Provide wisdom to the leaders of the state, cities, counties, and organizations leading the response to this disaster. Comfort those who have lost so much, and may Your peace fill those who are anxious and afraid.

May we as neighbors not only lift our brothers and sisters up in prayer, but also be Your hands and feet to so many in need in the days ahead.

The wreckage left in the wake of these fires will be immense. To all in the communities impacted, we are praying for you and your families. To our business partners in the area, we are here for you in the days ahead. It will take time, but there will be joy beyond this pain. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble" (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
