Pharmacist Flo Launches New Children's Book, "Pharmacist Flo's Halloween Adventure"
EntSun News/11104538
New Halloween picture book combines seasonal fun with an important medicine safety lesson for young children.
MOLINE, Ill. - EntSun -- Pharmacist Flo's Halloween Adventure Mixes Candy, Costumes, and Medicine Safety
Pharmacist Flo's Halloween Adventure follows Asher and Amira through a Halloween night filled with costumes, candy, friends, games, and one painful stomachache. The story gives children a clear medicine safety lesson through a situation that feels natural. The lesson stays inside the action, so the party never turns into a long lecture beside the candy bowl.
Asher and Amira begin the evening eager to go trick-or-treating before Pharmacist Flo's Halloween party. They put on their costumes, grab their bags, wave goodbye to their parents, and race outside. At their neighbor Mark's house, they receive a large handful of candy. Asher can't wait and eats several pieces. He keeps eating a few more pieces after each stop, and his bag soon overflows.

Amira decides they have enough candy and suggests heading to the party. Asher agrees, then admits that his belly doesn't feel good. He thinks he ate too much candy. The party is already in full swing at Pharmacist Flo's house. Halloween decorations cover the house and yard. Children play games, bob for apples, and show off their costumes.
Asher's pain soon gets worse. Jeb wants to help and offers to get medicine from his mother's purse. Asher makes the safe choice. He tells Jeb that he shouldn't take medicine belonging to someone else. Pharmacist Flo confirms his decision and explains the danger. Medicine that helps one person may not be safe for another person.
Pharmacist Flo asks about Asher's candy eating, then calls his parents. They suggest rest and water to see if he feels better. Their advice works, and Asher returns to the Halloween activities with Amira and his friends. Rest, water, and a little common sense save the party from an early ending.

The story gives children a response they can remember. They should refuse medicine meant for someone else and ask trusted adults for help. Asher remembers the rule before Pharmacist Flo explains it. He speaks up for himself and makes the safe decision during an uncomfortable moment.
Pharmacist Flo closes the party by gathering everyone together. She reminds the children never to take medicine that belongs to someone else. She adds one more rule for the evening: don't eat too much Halloween candy. The children laugh, shout "Happy Halloween," and race home.
Pharmacist Flo's Halloween Adventure turns a familiar celebration into a clear lesson about medicine, parents, trusted adults, and safe choices. The ending returns Asher to his friends and the Halloween fun. His stomachache makes sure the lesson is hard to miss.
