ATLANTA - EntSun -- Last Tuesday night, June 17th, Venue 78 in Lilburn, Georgia, hosted the premiere of The Book Slam Live, an event that brought the excitement of the popular online show to a live audience. This first-ever live event, building on the success of the online show that has featured over 900 authors since its launch on Clubhouse in 2020, was a resounding success.
Hosted by the show's creator, Indy Brennan, alongside the acclaimed star of the one-woman play "Beneath The Crown," Dr. April K., the evening was filled with dynamic performances and powerful readings.
The event began with a powerful reading by Relationship and Sex Therapist Dr. Cherlisa Jackson from her book "Empowering The Breaking." Her story resonated deeply with the women in the audience, setting a poignant tone for the night. Dr. Kristle Shanell followed with a reading from her autobiographical book "In The Midst Of A Diagnosis," captivating the audience with her raw and intimate account of personal struggles and resilience.
