New Book "The Scorekeeper" Honors the Timelessness of Love, Magic and Baseball
EntSun News/10809830
PAWTUCKET, R.I. - EntSun -- Told with passion and intrigue, Scott Russell's new book The Scorekeeper is simply a masterful piece of storytelling.
Opening with a retelling of Babe Ruth's famous "called shot," Russell then takes the reader on a fairy-tale-like journey from a central moment deep in baseball's storied past through to the future of baseball, and proves that the magic of love, like the magic of baseball, will forever remain timeless.
And while Russell's book reads like a novel, it is delivered within the literary device of a screenplay, allowing Russell's story, theme, and prose the most effective structure to shine through.
In his preface, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Bill "Spaceman" Lee calls Russell, "a terrific storyteller" and called The Scorekeeper "a perfect example of Scott's ability to effectively spin a yarn." Author and humorist Matthew J. Goldberg called the book, "a terrific story about the resonance of baseball… but it is about so much more including fate, faith, family and the courage to dream again."
