Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign Still Needs Water
EntSun News/11102099
~ Mesa's annual Hydration Donation Campaign is in full swing, and the city is calling on its residents and businesses to continue their generous support. The campaign, which aims to provide relief to those in need during the scorching summer heat, has already received an overwhelming response since its launch on May 5.
According to Mayor Mark Freeman, the outpouring of donations from the community has been nothing short of inspiring. "It's heartwarming to see the generosity of Mesa residents and businesses shine through each year during the Hydration Donation Campaign," he said. "Every contribution, whether it's a case of water or a modest cash donation, can truly be a lifesaver. I have no doubt that we will not only reach but exceed our campaign goal."
This year's goal is to collect 500,000 bottles of water and $50,000 in cash to purchase water for those in need. Residents can donate water at various drop-off locations throughout the city, with a complete list available at mesaaz.gov/H2OMesa. Cash donations are also accepted by United Food Bank.

Jason Reed, President and CEO of United Food Bank, expressed his gratitude for the support received so far. "Every bottle of water and every dollar truly makes a difference," he said. "But the need in our community is still great. If you're able to help, now is the time. Whether it's a five-dollar donation or a case of water, you could be saving someone's life. Every donation counts."
The campaign has already seen significant contributions from various businesses, nonprofit organizations, and residents this summer. Niagara alone donated two semi-trucks filled with approximately 88,320 bottles on July 29 and another 84,672 bottles on August 28 to United Food Bank's warehouse.
Walmart also made a substantial contribution by delivering a semi-truck filled with over 54,200 bottles at the campaign kickoff in May. Additionally, several businesses, including EdgeCore, Holder, DP Electric, SRP, and EdgeConnex, announced cash donations totaling over $20,000 at the kickoff event.

Other notable contributions include approximately 12,000 bottles donated by Bottles for Bill and Bikers with a Purpose. Bottles for Bill also made an additional $2000 cash donation recently. Global Roofing also stepped up by making a $5000 cash donation to the campaign.
Sally Harrison, President and CEO of Mesa Chamber of Commerce, praised the city's business community for their continuous support. "The Mesa business community has always risen to the occasion to help this lifesaving cause," she said. "Their efforts in collecting water or raising money have allowed United Food Bank to purchase even more cases. I am confident that we will see even more generous donations of both water and cash in the weeks ahead as groups rise to the challenge and match contributions to this critical effort."
The Hydration Donation Campaign will continue until Wednesday, September 30. The city urges its residents and businesses to continue their support and help make a difference in someone's life during these challenging times.
