Marine Charities Continuing To Switch Insurance To IRCM
EntSun News/10783147
It's been almost 2 years since Marine Insurance specialists Insurance Risk & Claims Management Ltd (IRCM) announced the relaunch of their Bowline Insurance offering for small clubs.
LONDON - EntSun -- Aimed at sailing, yacht and boat clubs with low annual revenues the scheme focuses on providing keenly-priced optimum protection.
With insurance premiums in the Marine Sector rising sharply over the las year, IRCM has seen an increasing number of sailing and boat clubs opting for insurance under their Bowline banner; but, significantly, the midlands-based marine specialists have seen an increasing number of maritime trusts and charities choose IRCM as their insurance provider.
Specialist Risks Executive with IRCM, Mark Elcocks said "Many of the marine-based clubs we talk to are either registered charities or not-for-profit community groups. It makes sense, therefore, that we have been approached by a range of maritime trusts and charities who are looking for the same benefits as our other not-for-profit clients.

"We are managing the insurance programmes of charities that range in mission from canal and harbour trusts to those focussing on providing accessible sailing; and others such as those promoting the sport of rowing in schools. We are also seeing more enquiries from trusts involved in the restoration and operation of historic vessels."
IRCM are able to offer comprehensive insurance programmes to marine-based organisations operating in the Third Sector, including standard covers for property, loss of revenue and liabilities as well as specialist protection for vessels either in-build or in commission. Additional protection options include Management Liability Indemnity for Trustees and Officers, Cyber Protection (including Crime and Liability) and Professional Indemnity.
Mark went on to say "In the present climate, not for profit organisations operating in the Maritime or Marine-Leisure Sectors are looking for an economic insurance solution combined with good cover and backed by a secure insurer. IRCM's goal is to meet the needs of Third Sector marine and maritime groups through sourcing low-cost cover whilst not compromising on the scope of protection they need to meet their statutory and professional obligations".
