Libraries For Kids International Announces Leadership Transition

BLUFFTON, S.C. - EntSun -- Libraries For Kids International proudly announces a leadership transition that reflects the organization's strong foundation and commitment to future growth.

After decades of dedicated service as President of the Board of Directors, Roy Austin, founder of Libraries For Kids International, has retired from the role of Board President.

In recognition of his extraordinary leadership and lifelong commitment to advancing literacy for children around the world, the Board of Directors has appointed Austin to serve as President Emeritus and Advisor, allowing him to continue providing guidance and institutional knowledge during this transition and growth.

Austin remains a voting member of the Board of Directors, and the Board has removed term limits on his service in recognition of his unique contributions and ongoing commitment to the organization's mission.

At the same time, Vice President Erich Schmid is acting Interim President of the Board of Directors. Schmid has served on the Board since the organization's inception and brings a deep understanding of its mission, history and long-term goals.

"Roy Austin's vision built the foundation for everything Libraries For Kids International has accomplished over the years and everything we stand for," said Laura Winkel, CEO of Libraries For Kids International. "We are fortunate that Roy will continue to serve as a trusted advisor and board member. We are equally fortunate to have Erich Schmid temporarily step into this interim leadership role. His long-standing dedication to our organization provides continuity and stability as we look toward the future."

With Vice President Erich Schmid serving as Interim Board President, the Executive Committee and Board of Directors continue to provide strong leadership and oversight for the organization. Together, they are guiding Libraries For Kids International through this transition while actively identifying the right individual to serve as the next permanent Board President. The organization's mission, operations and international initiatives remain strong, and its commitment to serving children through literacy and education remains unchanged.
