Las Vegas Walk of Stars to Honor Frank Shankwitz

LAS VEGAS - EntSun -- The Walk of Stars will honor one of the greatest humanitarians of all time, the Founder of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Frank Shankwitz, with the 88th star dedication ceremony on Saturday June 15, 2019 at 2:00pm in the Mon Ami Gabi restaurant of the Paris Hotel located at 3655 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Frank Shankwitz is the Founder of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is one of the largest charity organizations in the world. Frank has received many awards, including the President's Call to Service Award, Making a World of Difference award, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and now he is receiving the 88th star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars.

Many celebrities will be in attendance such as: Lindsey Wagner, Demond Wilson, Shelley Williams (Boxing Hall of Fame), Danny Arroyo, Steve Sisolak (Governor of Nevada), Randy Sutton, Larry Namer, John Namer, Lester Abrams, Marc Gold, Larry Wilcox, Queen of Las Vegas Entertainment Carrie Brown, Sharon Lechter, Greg Reid, Andrew Steele, Theo Davis, Composer Michael Raye, Kassandra Carroll as Marilyn Monroe, Spirit of the King Steve Connolly, Audrey Rutton as Charlie Chaplin and many others.

Frank was one of the primary officers from the Arizona Highway Patrol who was responsible for granting the "wish" of a 7-year old boy with leukemia, who wanted to be a Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officer like his heroes, Ponch and John from the television show, "CHiPs". Chris was made the first and only Honorary Arizona Highway Patrol Officer in the history of the Arizona Highway Patrol, complete with a custom made uniform, badge, and Motor Officer Wings. Chris succumbed to his illness a few days after receiving his "wish", and was buried with full police honors in Illinois, with Frank leading the police funeral procession. Chris was the inspiration for Frank's idea to start a non-profit foundation that would let children 'make a wish' and have it come true.
