Is Birthright Citizenship Being Abused in the United States: Americans Say
EntSun News/11096451
The attempt to correct a wrong by expressing empathetic social values can cause unregulated change
WASHINGTON - EntSun -- Liam Westra, British News Sole Corp, BNSC News Group LLC
"Whenever the people are well informed, they can be trusted with their own government; that whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights." - Thomas Jefferson
In a land that has so many freedoms it seems that it also has the capacity to accept all within its borders, but was this the actual thinking of the founding fathers of the land of the free? At the time of the great ground breaking of the new American frontier many were given land as long as they developed it by their own means, and so immigrants sailed from many foreign countries in order to accept such benefits. This was the Homestead Act of 1862.
In 1776 the United States government ordered by decree that whomever swore allegiance, and fought in the military was compensated with the ownership of land. The ownership of land was considered a main asset to becoming an American citizen. After the Civil War the United States Congress enacted laws that granted rights to enslaved peoples within its borders. The African slave trade ended, and they received birthright citizenship for their descendants, and the Southern Homestead Act of 1866 promised acres of land for free.

The then actions of the United States government implied American citizenship is applied to a person by the legal capability to acquire land rights, owing patriotism by allegiance, and volunteering to serve in the military. This may be the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness prerequisites for future prosperity.
As of current political matters of state, and federal government the Supreme Court has held firm on the Constitutional right to birthright citizenship, but is it required that a person has to be an American citizen first before a child can be granted automatic citizenship? The 14th Amendment has declared that people have to adhere to the laws of the United States in order for their child born on the soil to be granted citizenship rights.
