"I believe there is a demographic that is underrepresented in hip-hop and that demographic is grown-ass men and women who take care of their business," says Jay Wiz. "This is music for adults with children and significant others. In my opinion, that is very hard to find."

Originally raised in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, James "Jay Wiz" Crayton delivers the complete package musically, being an artist, writer, producer, and audio engineer. His musical influences first came from West Coast Rap artists such as Spice 1, MC Eiht, NWA, and E-40, and down south artists such as The Ghetto Boys, and 8 Ball & MJG. The sound Jay Wiz's music compares to and is reminiscent of are artists such as Common, Redman, The Lox, and Jay-Z.
