Hosted by long-time friend and collaborator, DJ Nate The Great, Jay Wiz & Nate The Great Presents Hoodie SZN The Mixtape harkens back to roots in New York hip hop with a distinctly Midwest flare. Hoodie SZN offers a unique listening experience full of lyricism and versatility in rhyme patterns and styles - all while delivering diversity in production that implores a street grittiness with soulful bounce throughout. The mixtape includes features from AC The Entity, E. Renee, M - Az'n, Deon Can Rap (DCR), YON LI, Black Rain, and more, while production includes music from Tone Jonez, Don P, DopeBoyZMusic, and others. The mixtape is the first release since Wiz's Divergent album debuted in 2018.

Originally raised in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, James "Jay Wiz" Crayton delivers the complete package musically, being an artist, writer, producer, and audio engineer. His musical influences first came from West Coast Rap artists such as Spice 1, MC Eiht, NWA, and E-40, and down south artists such as The Ghetto Boys, and 8 Ball & MJG. The sound Jay Wiz's music compares to and is reminiscent of are artists such as Common, Redman, The Lox, and Jay-Z.
