Highway Miles offers full truck-navigation features in a free, driver-built app

DENTON, Texas - EntSun -- Highway Miles, a commercial truck GPS app created by working driver Robert Phillips and his son Justin, offers its navigation features through a free, ad-supported plan on iPhone, iPad and Android. Drivers can choose an optional $5.99 monthly Ad-Free plan that removes advertisements while retaining the same navigation features.

The app brings together tools used to prepare for and navigate a truck trip. Drivers can enter vehicle details, including height, weight, length, axles, trailer, cargo and hazmat settings. They can add unlimited stops, change the stop order and review the proposed route before starting voice-guided navigation.

Highway Miles also displays available weather radar, traffic and road-incident information alongside truck-relevant locations. Drivers can find truck stops, rest areas, fuel locations, parking locations and weigh stations, and share trip information with dispatchers, customers, family or other authorized contacts.

The project combines Robert's experience in trucking and technology with Justin's software development. Robert contributes feedback from real routes while Justin develops the platform. The free model lets drivers try the navigation features before deciding whether they want an experience without advertisements. It does not require a paid navigation subscription to access the features described on the company's website.

Highway Miles supports English and Spanish. Supported map data can be downloaded before departure to help keep maps available where connectivity is weak. Route calculation, rerouting, traffic, weather and other live functions may still require a data connection.
