Patel's innovative leadership swiftly expanded the Helix company portfolio to include 11 properties and 300 employees in under 10 years, and directly influenced the investment portfolio growth from under $1M to over $100M.

A DePaul University graduate, Patel also serves as a board member for the DePaul University School of Hospitality Leadership, co-chairs the Academic Program sub-committee to further develop DePaul's Hospitality program, is a regular contributor to trade publications and a lifetime member of AAHOA (Asian American Hotel Owners Association).
