Today, young people are facing unprecedented challenges as they enter the workforce after high school or college:
- In the first quarter of 2026 the unemployment rate of recent college graduates was about 5.7%, up two points over the last ten years.
- With AI automating some junior-level routine tasks, which previously were the training ground for interpersonal and professional skills required for career growth and advancement, the bar is higher for people newly entering the workforce.
- While technologically adept, young workers often are challenged with demonstrating the durable skills needed to advance and grow in the workplace, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, fortitude, growth mindset, and leadership.
The panel discussion will explore these and other factors impacting the world of work. Tickets are still available for Tough Enough to be a Girl Scout.
