Gov. Little signs executive order to cut red tape for Idaho farmers and ranchers during harvest
EntSun News/11104749
Boise, Idaho ~ Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed an executive order suspending state inspections related to dyed diesel fuel for 30 days while state agencies review enforcement policies and recommend changes.
The order directs the Idaho State Police and Idaho Transportation Department to pause inspections conducted under Idaho Code section 49-676. The agencies will examine how other states enforce dyed diesel rules and submit recommendations to the governor on inspection practices they consider efficient and practical.
Little said the suspension is intended to reduce regulatory burdens on farmers and ranchers during harvest season. He linked the action to President Donald Trump's directive to cut red tape for agricultural producers and businesses.

"Idaho farmers and ranchers work hard to feed our families, our country, and the world," Little said. "We will continue looking for ways to give our farmers, ranchers, and working men and women on the road more freedom to do what they do best."
Dyed diesel is commonly used for agricultural purposes and is subject to different state and federal requirements from fuel used on public roads, according to the governor's office. The order temporarily suspends Idaho's inspection requirements but does not exempt individuals or businesses from other applicable federal or state laws or vehicle warranty requirements.
The order is set to remain in effect for 30 calendar days unless Little rescinds or extends it.
Several legislative leaders voiced support for the suspension, describing it as temporary relief for producers facing high operating costs and diesel prices. House Speaker Mike Moyle called the pause a practical measure during harvest, while Senate President Pro Tem Kelly Anthon said it would give the state time to review the requirements.
