International Users Flock to iProperty Site that Bans Agents
EntSun - Feb. 26, 2015 - NEW YORK -- A free property community has reached users in over 20 countries, including the USA, only six months after a soft launch and minimal test marketing in the UK. Over 8000 listings of property worth over $3bn have been posted with the iProperty Company which cuts out real estate agents and is free to use for property owners and builders. CEO John Candia explained how http://www.theipropertycompany.com has gone viral so quickly.
'We began test marketing in summer 2014 in the UK but only at a very low level. More recently we appeared in the UK national media following a $3m fundraising campaign which is still on-going, including some crowdfunding https://www.seedrs.com/startups/the-iproperty-company. We plan on extending our marketing to north and south America but it seems that news is spreading fast via social media and word of mouth. We were surprised and delighted when we got our first user in the USA without even trying.´

The iProperty Company allows home buyers and renters to deal directly with property owners and the service has proven to be particularly popular with building companies. Home sellers in the USA spent $114bn in real estate fees in 2014 so use of a free property portal could represent significant savings. The company was co-founded by Candia and British financial services entrepreneur Brian Blake. The company is widely tipped by publications such as the Financial Times as 'the real disruptor' http://ftalphaville.ft.com/2015/01/26/2100542/the-phoney-property-portal-war/ in the world of online real estate and has seen a major backlash from UK estate agents http://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2015/01/61759-iproperty-uk-property-industry-is-running-scared/.
The iProperty Company is free to list and use for private property owners with no commissions or ads, but excludes agents. The company generates revenue with data processing and referrals to a range of price-promised services, but they are currently available only in Spain and the UK. Users can post as many listings as they want, for as long as they want anywhere in the world via desktop, tablet or smartphone. iProperty is also supported in the UK by the NHBC (national house building council) and major builders. John Candia explained why he thought that the iProperty Company would suceed:
