City of Bloomington Offers Three Fall Workshops for Artists and Arts Administrators

~ Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington is continuing its efforts to support the local creative community by offering three professional development workshops this fall. These workshops are designed for artists and arts administrators and aim to provide resources for creative entrepreneurship.

Since 2024, the City has been hosting these workshops, covering a range of topics relevant to artists at different stages of their careers and working in various disciplines. This year's series will focus on community collaboration, conflict resolution, and burnout in creative practice.

Facilitating the workshops will be Andrea M. Sterling, a highly experienced facilitator with over 20 years of experience in community and academic settings. Sterling specializes in community care and using the self as a foundation for collaborative work.

The workshop dates and topics are as follows: "Starts with You: Using the Self to Build Stronger Collaborative Community Culture" on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., "We're All We've Got: Navigating Conflict, Accountability and Repair" on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and "Combatting Burnout: Using Self-Compassion and Joy-Work to Balance the Scales" on Monday, Nov. 16, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

All workshops will take place at the John Waldron Arts Center located at 122 S Walnut Street. Each workshop has a maximum capacity of 25 participants, so interested individuals are encouraged to register early. Registration will remain open until capacity is reached, and participants must register separately for each workshop. A waitlist will also be available for those who are unable to secure a spot in their desired workshop.
