Bradley Charlton's "Steeplejack" enters pre-production
EntSun News/11003560
OXFORD, U.K. - EntSun -- Following the release of his debut feature film 'Fading Petals', Bradley Charlton is set to write and direct his second feature titled 'Steeplejack'. Currently, a summary, synopsis and poster have been announced. The film's summary is as follows:
In the shadow of loss and grief, a steeplejack's quest to finish a crucial job coincides with his own downward spiral into turmoil. His unspoken pain strains his relationships with loved ones and the community, as his path towards inner peace becomes increasingly treacherous.
The film's synopsis is as follows:
Struggling with the loss of his wife, Mark retreats into himself, only expressing himself through fits of rage. His relationships with his mother, his grown son Jason and ten-year-old Bobby grow increasingly strained. Mark buries himself in his work as a steeplejack, he spends his evenings at the working men's club and on his days off gambling vast amounts of money at the races, all in an attempt to feel something. The retirement of his assistant sees him trying to dismantle a 300 foot chimney - a two-man job - singlehandedly. The return of his younger brother Charlie prompts old memories and feelings of resentment to resurface. The pair address their issues and Charlie offers to help Mark at work. As the two work together Mark finds some inner peace and begins to heal. However, this is short lived as Mark and Charlie reach breaking point at a community event. The fateful consequences lead to their mother leaving the family home, resulting in Mark being tasked with looking after his youngest son alone. Mark attempts to step up to the plate but is shockingly ill-equipped to care for the boy. Despite this, the pair's relationship begins to prosper, however, suffering is never far away. Mark's selfish ways gravely endanger Bobby as he finally bows to his shortcomings as a father, a husband, a son and as a man.
