Annapolis Royal Expecting Record Number Of Attendees For Pride

ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, Nova Scotia - EntSun -- The town of Annapolis Royal will be hosting its 4th Annual Pride Festival from July 3-9, 2022. It is anticipated to be the biggest Pride Festival the town has celebrated to date.
Chair of the local festival, Niko Steenken believes, "it's an opportunity to show all Canadians how this place of historical significance is a loving, welcoming and accepting community."
The festival will be showcasing many local Nova Scotian performers and artists.
This year's event will begin on July 3rd at 1pm with a flag raising ceremony at the historical Annapolis Royal Town Hall followed by a benefit concert with proceeds going to the LGBTQI+ community of the Ukraine hosted by Lucy Blue Trembley of Maggie & Shanti Musique at 3pm.
On Friday July 8 King's Theatre will be showcasing Small Town Pride, a Canadian documentary partially filmed in Annapolis Royal.
Friday July 9 festivities includes fun for kids from 11am-12:40pm at Grant Potter Memorial Park.

The town's Pride Parade will take place from 1:15-2:15 PM on historic St George St in Annapolis Royal including participation from the Canadian Military of Greenwood, Nova Scotia Community College staff and students, and the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, as well as many local artists and businesses.
After the parade, the town will offer an all ages community showcase at The Amphitheatre, nestled beside Historic Fort Anne hosted by Rouge Fatal, Coast Magazine's Hall of Fame inductee and Featuring performers from small towns across the province including the incomparable Mrs Deva Station, Mr Richard Rockhard and Michael Hunt, Mrs Shayla Shenannigans, and Rhea Listique as well as Annapolis Royal's very own Steph Peaks with a special performance from miss Lucy Blue Trembley.
Pride after Dark events include King's Theatre will be hosting pop sensation T Thomson for an all ages concert.Whisky Teller Pub will be hosting the Canadian award winning Serpentine Burlesque & NS Queens

Lunns Mills Pub/brewery (Lawrencetown ns ) and the Annapolis Brewing Company (Annapolis Royal ) are partnering to make Annapolis Royal Pride it's very own beer. It will be available for sale across the region, with all proceeds going to the Local Pride Chapter for continued programming and community development in Annapolis and surrounding communities.
