Thriller Author Crashes Chicago's St. Patrick's Day Festivities in Latest Novel

CHICAGO - March 7, 2019 - EntSun -- In the past days, Illinois news outlets have reported on two distinguished area awards:

• Safe haven city Naperville ranks as the best in the US to raise a family; and
• Chicago is named the number one city to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  

To most Chicago-metro area residents, this comes as no surprise. Chicago's notable Irish holiday celebration is historically rich with parties, pub-crawls, bagpipers, and parades. In parallel, Naperville lauds its relative safety, strong schools, and image of apple pie America. But somewhere between the two prize locations, there is a Presence of Evil lurking in the shadows, and local thriller author, J.T. Patten, is about to rain hell on the green parade and tarnish the tranquility of the burbs.

Patten, a resident of Naperville with a prior address in Chicago, is a former intelligence professional known for his dark tales of black ops deceit, vengeance, and deep state antics. His latest Task Force Orange series release, The Presence of Evil, is available for pre-sale and debuts in August, but what's behind the book cover has been as secretive as Patten's prior security clearances.

"Bottom line, I wreck St. Patrick's Day. Done. Over. Terrorized," Patten shares. "Terrorists come to the Windy City with an intent to steal radioactive materials from the University of Chicago and release them during the parade. It's not good. It would probably change the Chicago ranking to the worst St. Patrick's Day cities -- short of Milwaukee, maybe."

According to the book flap details on Amazon, the black ops novel brings a domestic counterterrorism unit to the city in search of the looming evil actors in advance of the big March event, but confusion abounds for the heroes creating city limits mayhem from Devon Avenue to Lawndale.

In a prior discussion with Patten, he noted, "I know Chicago, I still live in the area, so I write what I know." He added, "Just recently, Chicago was heralded for its advances in movie production. As a good Chicagoan, I thought I'd help Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Cinespace Film with future media prospects by creating a war from north to south involving gangs, disavowed government operations, and sprinkle in some international terrorists. Don't think of me destroying Chicago. Think of me creating jobs for Governor Pritzker," Patten laughed.
