THE COPELAND KIDS Nominated for Best Feature Script and Best Dialogue Queen Palm Int. Film Festival

LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- This Three-Day Event celebrates all of Queen Palm Int. Film Festival's incredible bi-monthly edition Gold Winners from each category and promotes independent cinema while bridging the gap between the filmmakers and Hollywood.

The QPIFF will feature a full day of Screenings and Luxury Red Carpet Award Show where all Gold Winners will compete for a chance to win a prestigious "Queen Supreme Trophy" awarded to the best films, screenplays, music videos & episodics of the year in each category. The Queen's Court will also be awarding the most-outstanding film & screenplay of the year with the prestigious "Couronne d'Or Award".

In every divorce there are two sides to the story, but for the children stuck between them who is right and who is wrong makes little difference when they are taken from one county, culture, and family to another. Even the best intentions sometimes lead us down the wrong path, but there is always hope.

THE COPELAND KIDS screenplay has also won the Van Gough Award at the Amsterdam Film Festival, been named a Finalist for Finish Line Script Competition and The Great American Script Contest, selected for LA Live Film Festival and named Winner Best Screenplay Pinnacle Film Awards.

The "Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act" is the current law on the books that grew out of the legal changes made during the Copeland Kidnappings. At the time there was nothing beyond a misdemeanor to enforce the home state custody order and prevent parental kidnappings. The Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement has been adopted in forty-nine of the fifty states.

Cecilia Copeland, the screenwriter, is one of the children who were taken in the Copeland kidnappings. She is a writer who lives in New York. On writing THE COPELAND KIDS, Copeland had this to say, "When I saw what was happening at the border to so many children and parents, I couldn't stand by and do nothing. I know the long term effects of being separated from a parent at a young age. The best way I can help make people understand is to tell my story."

Most recently Copeland is known for her award winning pilot, TALTRIX winner of Best TV Pilot Screenplay LA Femme International Film Festival, among others, based on her novel SURVIVING THE GAUNTLET.
